Flowers out…..Flowers in……

John Joe's tulip

Don’t we all feel just like a tulip sometimes?

                                           Not completely unfurled

but definitively showing potential

even if crowed and struggling to be true .. to yourself.. your kind….your destiny

..or your demise

chin up… me petals…..and back to the bulb

April was a breeze. A shadow on the switch.

shadow on the switch

Finding ourselves in the winds of change, the winds of spring/summer,

the breezes of new-time, the breeze of yesterday whispering past our hair,

a hello and a goodbye and  ”I’ll always be here”.

whoosh………………..    and they’re gone.

Dog-Brother-Father-Auntie-Friend and Lover……………………….Much joy within the month…. and tears, sighs and a look skyward ….towards the ever-moving.

….What the Air says…….

There’s  new breath in the wind.

There’s  new breath in the wind.

There’s  new breath in the wind.

A moon moving by minutes.  A tea cup without stain.

Skin like crystals.

Skin like seeds.

breaking. forgiving.rolling.sighing.

There’s  new breath in the wind.

There’s  new breath in the wind.

There’s  new breath in the wind.

March marched away….

It did didn’t it!!!!! Without too much fuss or bother we slide in to April. I use to hold dear that opening line of T.S.Eliot’s ‘April is the cruelest month’… but ya know… I’ve changed my tune. April’s alright… in fact , it’s one the best months of the Georgian calendar . Here in Ireland its a popping green like the brightest light. And it smells so sweet, so clear. Even the rain has a flavour of newness. Yup I’m all for April…..

Meanwhile… here’s a few pictures of March in old Drumshanbo

wet yes... who care? No one.

and here’s a inside shot….

……what was I thinking…….

a painted rock in the sun

New growth in fresh moss… These shots were taken in Sligo at the Benwisken Centre. The garden was damp with dew and the grass was springy.

I was there at the final workshop sponsored by Helium  which is a arts/ health organisation . A fascinating time  was had by all. We shared our experiences working in the health sector- some of us were artists , others were the day to day workers in the field. We were partnered earlier last year to develop a relationship were we exchanged ideas and information about approaches to working with autistic clients. A highly charged exchange was had. Most illuminating.

Benwhisken Garden Sligo………long shadows early in the day….. just like March.
